I always think that the scenes where Robin runs away after shooting Red Gill must have been shot very early on because the trees at that time were only just in leaf whereas later we see them with full summer greenery. As Richard Todd says in his autobiography, the first week's filming in the first week of May 1951 saw the Merrie Men on location at Burnham Beeches in very cold conditions. Must have been great fun though.

I agree Neil, these scenes are some of my favorites its a wonderful place and walking those woods is like walking on a thick pile carpet.truly a treasure that should remain for ever.

I have so many favourite scenes, but this is up near the top!

I love the way Robin scampers away from the forresters and disappears into the woodland. I fancy doing that sometimes!

We could all do it on a whistling arrows day out , lets scamper, i too love this scene and also the shot where the french horn sounds , all you see is woodland,
